A Year in Review
A Year in Review: Transforming Lives at IHCS

Date

As we reflect on the past year, Integrated Healthcare Systems (IHCS) celebrates a remarkable journey filled with impactful initiatives, meaningful connections, and groundbreaking achievements.

With a commitment to providing comprehensive healthcare services, we have touched countless lives and strengthened the fabric of our community. Here is our 2024 Year in Review:

This year, IHCS made a profound difference in the lives of individuals and families across our community:

  • 4,138 Lives Impacted: Through our wide range of services and outreach, we ensured that thousands of individuals had access to the care and support they needed.
  • 1,647 Mental Health Screenings: By offering timely screenings, we helped identify and address mental health concerns early, fostering better outcomes.
  • 1,320 Group Sessions: These sessions provided participants with a safe space to share, heal, and grow together.
  • 523 Individual Sessions: Personalized care remained at the heart of our services, ensuring tailored support for each individual.
  • 418 Outreach Health Screenings: We extended our reach into the community, promoting health and wellness through accessible screenings.
  • 197 Outreach Case Management Services: Our team provided essential guidance and resources to those navigating complex challenges.
  • 33 Respite Care Services: For caregivers and families, our respite services offered much-needed relief and support.

A significant highlight of the year was the grand opening of the Friendship Health Clinic in downtown West Palm Beach. Offering behavioral health, primary care, and case management services, the clinic represents a new era of accessible and integrated healthcare. The grand opening was attended by County Commissioner Greg Weiss and other esteemed community leaders, marking a pivotal moment for IHCS and the communities we serve.

Throughout the year, IHCS introduced a variety of programs aimed at promoting mental, physical, and emotional wellness:

  • Weekly Yoga and Sound Bath Classes: Led by volunteer Ms. Mi Sun Donahue, these sessions became a cornerstone of relaxation and mindfulness for our participants.
  • Art Therapy Classes: A limited series led by volunteer Ms. Nathalie Fuson allowed participants to explore self-expression and healing through art.
  • Health and Nutrition Classes: Thanks to a partnership with the American Heart Association and leadership from Ms. Brittani Jean-Phillippe, these classes empowered attendees with knowledge and tools for healthier living.

IHCS believes in fostering a sense of belonging and celebration. This year, we hosted several events that brought people together:

  • Client Lunches for Holidays: From Valentine’s Day to Christmas, eight themed luncheons brought joy, activities, and prizes to our clients.
  • Education and Training Day: Planned by our clients, this event featured five special speakers who shared invaluable insights.
  • Free Community Events: In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month in May and Cancer Awareness Month in October, we organized two events featuring over 10 vendors and sponsors each, drawing attention to critical health issues.
  • Team Building for Staff: Our staff came together for an exciting escape room challenge in Jupiter, FL, strengthening collaboration and camaraderie.
  • Weekly Carwash Fundraisers: Clients led these fundraisers for over four months, and El Car Wash generously donated over 1,000 free items.

IHCS also made strides in professional development:

  • Internship Program: Ten individuals were selected for our internship program, receiving hands-on training in group and individual counseling, psychosocial evaluations, and intake processes.
  • Master’s-Level Interns: Four dedicated individuals—Lacie, Sydney, Raquel, and Ana—successfully completed our program, preparing them for impactful careers in behavioral health.

Our mission was further amplified by hosting tours for elected officials and community leaders. This year, we welcomed notable figures such as:

  • U.S. Representative Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick
  • County Commissioner Greg Weiss
  • Councilman Doug Lawson
  • Palm Beach Sheriffs’ Office – Captain Rodney Thomas
  • Rivera Beach Police Department – Sergeant Roosevelt Lee
  • Pastor Antwan Carter

Looking Ahead

As we close this chapter, IHCS is filled with gratitude for the dedication of our team, the generosity of our partners, and the trust of our community. This year has been a testament to what can be achieved when people come together with a shared vision for better health and well-being.

In the coming year, IHCS will continue to build on these successes, expanding our reach and enhancing our services. Together, we will create even greater opportunities for healing, growth, and connection.

Thank you for being part of our journey. Here’s to another year of making a difference, one life at a time.
