In honor of Valentine’s Day, IHCS (Intensive Healthcare and Counseling Services) hosted a Valentine’s Day Event its February Monthly Mini Clinic at the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church on Friday, February 14th. This special event brought together members of the IHCS community for a day of support, care, and celebration, while showcasing the important work IHCS does for individuals and families.
The Monthly Mini Clinic is a regular event where IHCS provides essential health services and counseling support to individuals in the community. It’s a chance for those enrolled in IHCS’s Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) to receive additional resources and connect with others benefiting from the services offered by IHCS. This month’s event was especially meaningful as it coincided with Valentine’s Day— a time to show love and care for others, particularly those in need.
A Special Guest: Mickey Brooks
A highlight of this year’s event was the presence of special guest Mickey Brooks, a talented balloon artist who went viral on TikTok for her stunning balloon creations. Mickey’s artistry, showcased on her TikTok account @mikathegifted, has captivated thousands of followers with her imaginative and whimsical balloon sculptures.
Mickey’s attendance at the IHCS Valentine’s Day event brought a fun and creative atmosphere, as she wowed attendees with her balloon art and even personalized balloon pieces. Her involvement added an extra layer of joy to the event, making it a truly memorable experience for all those in attendance.
Turning the Event into a Fundraising Effort
In addition to providing entertainment, Mickey, alongside the Duly Consulting Team, helped turn the event into a fundraising activity for IHCS. This initiative aimed to raise awareness about IHCS’s services and generate much-needed funds to sustain and expand its outreach efforts.
The funds raised will directly support IHCS’s counseling and healthcare services, which are vital for individuals facing mental health challenges, addiction recovery, and other personal struggles. This event not only helped raise money but also gave attendees a chance to learn more about the work IHCS does to positively impact the community.
A Valentine’s Day Event Full of Fun and Support
Valentine’s Day is a time associated with love and affection, and the IHCS Monthly Mini Clinic embraced this spirit by creating a day full of fun, support, and connection. Attendees had the opportunity to interact with one another, share experiences, and learn about the different resources IHCS offers. The event served as a reminder that love comes in many forms, including the simple act of showing up for others and providing support when it’s needed most.
In addition to Mickey’s balloon artistry, several activities allowed for connection and engagement. Clients enrolled in the IOP program had the opportunity to meet with counselors and receive additional guidance on their recovery journey. The event provided a safe space for individuals to come together, share their stories, and celebrate their progress.
Building Awareness for IHCS Services
The event was also an opportunity to raise awareness about IHCS’s services. It allowed attendees to learn more about the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and the other services IHCS provides, such as individual counseling, group therapy, and family support. These programs help individuals navigate life’s challenges and build a foundation for long-term success.
The funds raised will ensure that IHCS can continue to offer these essential services, providing a lifeline for those in need.
Looking Ahead: More Events to Come
The success of the February Monthly Mini Clinic sets the stage for more community engagement in the future. IHCS is dedicated to expanding its reach and continuing to support individuals in need. With the success of this event, we’re excited to continue hosting events that bring people together, raise awareness, and fund essential services.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended, supported the fundraising efforts, and helped make the event a success. A special thank you goes to Mickey Brooks for sharing her talent with us, and to the Duly Consulting Team for organizing the event.
For those unable to attend, we encourage you to stay connected with IHCS for future events and opportunities to get involved. Together, we can continue to make a difference.
