The Integrated Healthcare System (IHCS) recently hosted its very 1st fundraiser at a major league baseball game, and it was nothing short of a home run! Our event at Cacti Park on March 8, 2025, was a resounding success, thanks to the incredible support of our dedicated volunteers and the enthusiastic crowd at the Yankees vs. Astros game.

A Night to Remember at Cacti Park

Under the bright stadium lights of Cacti Park, the excitement in the air was palpable. Fans packed the stands, their cheers echoing through the night as they rallied behind their favorite teams. But beyond the thrilling baseball action, another dedicated team was hard at work—nine committed volunteers, including our Board Chair Steve Kolman, who stepped up to make a meaningful difference for IHCS.

With sleeves rolled up and enthusiasm high, our volunteers took their places at the bustling concession stand, ready for a night of teamwork and fundraising. From the very first inning to the final play, they handled everything from taking orders and managing the cash register to preparing and serving food to the enthusiastic crowd. The fast-paced environment, with long lines of hungry fans, could have been overwhelming, but our volunteers embraced the challenge, learning quickly and working seamlessly together.

Teamwork, Community, and Impact

Despite limited training, our volunteers demonstrated incredible adaptability, proving that a shared commitment to a cause can be just as powerful as experience. It wasn’t just about selling snacks and drinks—it was about collaboration, problem-solving, and the joy of contributing to something bigger than ourselves. As one volunteer put it, “It was fast-paced, a little chaotic at times, but so rewarding. There’s something special about working together under pressure and knowing that every effort is going toward a great cause.”

Beyond the camaraderie, the real reward of the night was the direct impact on IHCS’s mission. Every purchase and every tip contributed to strengthening healthcare services in our community, ensuring that individuals and families receive the support they need.

How our 1st Fundraiser Supported IHCS

Thanks to the incredible turnout at the game and the generosity of the attendees, IHCS received 10% of the total concession stand sales, along with 100% of the tips collected throughout the evening. While we eagerly await the final tally, there is no doubt that our 1st fundraiser event was a home run for our organization. Every dollar raised brings us one step closer to expanding our healthcare programs, funding critical services, and making a lasting impact on the lives of those who rely on IHCS for care.
