Operation Give Back: Standing With Our Veterans

Date

For a veteran entering care, access to clean clothing, personal care products, water, and other everyday necessities can make an immediate difference. These practical items provide more than convenience. They help create a sense of dignity, comfort, and stability during an important transition.

Integrated Healthcare Systems (IHCS) is proud to partner with Florida Atlantic University’s Sigma Iota Xi at-Large Chapter for Operation Give Back, a veteran donation drive in Boca Raton.

From September 1 through November 4, 2026, community members can donate personal care items, everyday essentials, clothing, backpacks, bottled water, and snacks. The collected items will be organized into bags and presented to IHCS in November for veterans entering our care.

Practical Support at an Important Moment

Veterans may arrive for care with limited personal belongings or without the everyday items they need to feel comfortable. Having basic supplies available can help ease some of that immediate stress.

Operation Give Back is centered on meeting these practical needs. Each donated item can help a veteran begin the next stage of care feeling welcomed, respected, and supported.

The drive is collecting:

  • Personal care items
  • Everyday essentials
  • Clothing
  • Backpacks
  • Bottled water
  • Snacks

Whether someone contributes one item or several, each donation becomes part of a larger community effort to stand with those who have served.

Supporting Veterans With Dignity

IHCS has a longstanding commitment to veterans, beginning with its early work providing housing to veterans experiencing homelessness. Today, IHCS Veterans Services connects veterans and their families with coordinated care, housing support, behavioral health services, benefits navigation, and other resources.

Operation Give Back complements that work by helping address the immediate, personal needs veterans may have when they enter care. A backpack can provide a secure place for belongings. Clothing and personal care items can offer comfort and confidence. Water and snacks can help meet basic needs from the moment someone arrives.

These gestures may be simple, but they communicate something meaningful: our veterans are seen, valued, and not alone.

A Community Partnership With Purpose

Sigma Iota Xi at-Large Chapter brings together nursing students, professionals, and community members committed to service and caring. Through this partnership, FAU and IHCS are creating a direct way for the local community to support veterans.

After the collection period closes, the chapter will assemble and present the donated bags to IHCS in November. Those supplies will then be available to help welcome veterans entering IHCS care.
