What if the difference between surviving and thriving was a hygiene kit—or a front door?
Thanks to two new grants, we’re expanding our impact. At Integrated Healthcare System (IHCS), we know that for individuals experiencing homelessness, true healing begins with access—to shelter, to care, and to dignity.
This month, IHCS is honored to receive funding from both the Walmart Spark Good Local Grant and the Truist Foundation. From these new grants, these gifts will help grow two of our most life-changing initiatives:
- The HOST Program (Homeless Outreach Support Team)
- Our Dignity Village Permanent Supportive Housing Program
Let’s take a closer look at what these new grants will fuel—and how you can be part of this mission.
Walmart Spark Good Local Grant Supports IHCS HOST Program
We’re proud to be selected for a $1,250 Spark Good Local Grant from Walmart and the Community Foundation, specifically to enhance our HOST Program—which serves those experiencing homelessness in the Inland Empire.
This funding helps us expand immediate, compassionate support to people living on the streets, in shelters, or in unstable housing conditions.
What the HOST Program Provides:
- Hygiene kits with essentials like soap, toothpaste, and feminine products
- Case management, helping individuals create personalized recovery and housing plans
- Mental health and addiction counseling, meeting people where they are with dignity and trust
“We don’t just hand out supplies—we build relationships. These interactions are often the first step toward housing, sobriety, and stability.”
— IHCS Outreach Staff Member
Shoutout to Walmart Facility #2396 for standing with us in the fight against homelessness. This program is supported in part by a Spark Good Local Grant, an initiative helping nonprofits nationwide strengthen community well-being. Learn more here.
Truist Foundation Invests in Supportive Housing
We’re equally thrilled to announce a generous grant from the Truist Foundation, directed toward our Dignity Village program—a permanent supportive housing community for individuals with complex health and behavioral needs.
What the New Grant of Truist Foundation Makes Possible:
- Housing sponsorships for adults transitioning out of homelessness
- Access to integrated healthcare—including medical, psychiatric, and recovery services
- Expanded case management to support goal setting, employment, and community reintegration
According to the National Alliance to End Homelessness, permanent supportive housing reduces ER visits, lowers public healthcare costs, and improves quality of life. Our model reflects these results:
IHCS Dignity Village Outcomes:
- 97% of residents remain housed after one year
- 93% maintain sobriety while in the program
- 70% continue recovery even after exiting housing
“Housing isn’t a reward for perfect behavior—it’s a basic right. When people have stability, everything else becomes possible.”
— IHCS Case Manager
A heartfelt thank you to Truist Foundation our new grant for their belief in community-driven solutions and for investing in the health and dignity of those often overlooked.
Your Support Completes the Circle
Grants like these help us scale our work—but they’re only part of the picture. The heart of IHCS’s impact comes from people like you.
When you give, volunteer, or advocate, you help us provide what grants can’t always cover:
Your Donations Help Fund:
- Welcome kits for residents moving in
- On-site wellness programs like yoga and meditation
- Transportation for medical and housing appointments
- Mental health medications and therapy access
- Peer support groups that build trust and community
You don’t have to be a large foundation to make a lasting difference. You just have to care—and take action.
